Quentin Tarantino, one of cinema’s most celebrated directors, has been making headlines with updates on his much-anticipated final film. True to his promise of creating just ten films, Tarantino has officially announced The Movie Critic as his 10th and last movie. This project is set in the late 1970s in California, focusing on a film critic who wrote for an adult magazine. The film is expected to carry Tarantino’s signature style of sharp dialogue, dark humor, and unique historical settings.

Tarantino has hinted that the lead character is based on a real person, a relatively unknown film critic who worked during that era. The movie has drawn comparisons to characters like Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver, blending cynicism with provocative storytelling. As of now, casting has not been confirmed, but Tarantino has indicated that he is seeking an actor in his mid-30s for the lead role.

While The Movie Critic was initially set for production in 2023, delays due to the Hollywood strikes and other factors have pushed filming back, with a release expected no sooner than 2025. This will likely be a historic moment in cinema, marking the end of Tarantino’s directing career.
